Empower Your Brand with Exceptional Capability Statements

A capability statement is a one-page audition. A contracting officer decides in seconds whether to keep reading, and most statements lose them in the first three.

We design capability statements for government contractors, and we have written our own, so this is a document we know from both sides.

The format is unforgiving. One page, sometimes two, carrying your core competencies, past performance, differentiators, and the compliance data a contracting officer needs to verify you exist: UEI, CAGE, NAICS codes, socioeconomic certifications, points of contact. Most statements fail the same way, by burying the codes and spending the top third on a mission paragraph nobody reads.

We structure it so the verification data is instantly findable and the differentiators are specific enough to matter. “Responsive and detail-oriented” describes every bidder. Named agencies, real contract vehicles, and actual past performance describe you.

We also build variants, because the statement you send to a prime as a subcontractor is not the one you attach to a direct solicitation. Print-ready and screen-ready files, and live training so your team can keep the codes current without redesigning the document.

What every capability statements engagement gets.

01

Built for how it is read

Verification data findable at a glance, because that is what a contracting officer is scanning for first.

02

Differentiators that differentiate

Named agencies, vehicles, and past performance instead of adjectives every competitor also claims.

03

Variants for each audience

Separate versions for prime teaming and direct solicitations, plus files formatted for both print and email.

What people actually ask.

What is a capability statement?

A capability statement is a concise document that outlines your business’s core competencies, past performance, and unique value proposition. It serves as a marketing tool to showcase your strengths to government agencies and potential clients, similar to a resume for your business.

Why are capability statements important in government contracting?

Capability statements are crucial in government contracting as they help you stand out in a competitive market. They provide decision-makers with essential information about your qualifications, experience, and how your services align with their needs, increasing your chances of winning contracts.

What key elements should be included in a capability statement?

A well-crafted capability statement typically includes:

  • Company Overview. Brief description of your business, mission, and values.

Core Competencies. Key skills and services you offer.

Past Performance. Examples of previous projects or clients that demonstrate your expertise.

Differentiators. What sets your business apart from competitors.

Contact Information. Essential details for potential clients to reach you.

How can a well-designed capability statement drive results?

A compelling capability statement can open doors to new opportunities by effectively showcasing your qualifications. It can spark conversations at networking events, support responses to requests for information (RFIs), and enhance proposals, ultimately leading to increased business opportunities.
